Start a run, record each stop and end it
How to start a run from Deliveries, follow the next stop on the map, take payments, leave notes, and end the run, even with stops unvisited.
A run is one trip round a route by one driver. It gathers the visits you record, the money you take and your notes.
Start the run
- Open Deliveries and choose Start a run. It lists the routes you can drive: any already out first, then the most overdue.
- Choose Start beside the route. A route that is already out shows Continue run instead, because a route has only one run out at a time. You can also start from the route's own page with Start run.
Work through the stops
- The Stops tab shows the run's map and its stops. The Next stop is at the top, with whether the shop is open now, Call when it has a phone number, Navigate and Record delivery.
- To send the rest of the day to Google Maps as one trip, use Next 10 in Google Maps, or All … left in Google Maps when fewer remain.
- On the map, each pin is marked next, to do or visited. Tap one for Directions or Record delivery.
- Record each visit from the run rather than from the shop's page, so it counts towards the run. After the receipt, Done takes you back to the run for the next stop.
Only the driver records visits on a run. A payment taken at a stop is recorded with the visit and belongs to the run. The Summary tab shows Cash held now, what was collected by card and by transfer, and what the visits charged. The Notes tab holds a Note for the office, which you can write at any point and keep with Save note, and lists every note left on a visit.
End the run
End run, in the title bar, closes the run for good. If some stops have no visit, it tells you how many and asks whether to end anyway; a shop paused since it went on the route doesn't count as missed. An ended run can't be reopened, and the cash figure becomes Cash to hand in. The driver or an admin can end a run.
A run left open past midnight
A run stays open until somebody ends it. It keeps the day it started as its date in the route's History, and you can go on recording visits on it the next morning; each visit is dated the day you record it. While a run is open, the fill level on a delivery counts it as running today, so a shop isn't stocked a day short. End it when you are back.
