Print receipts from an iPhone: RTPrinter or Bluefy
Two ways to print a receipt from an iPhone to a Bluetooth printer: send it to RTPrinter from the Share sheet, or print in one tap from Bluefy.
Safari on an iPhone can't reach a Bluetooth printer by itself, so the printer button in the title bar only offers the phone's ordinary printing. To get a receipt onto a PT-210 or a similar portable receipt printer, use one of these two ways.
Way 1: RTPrinter, through the Share sheet
Set up once: install the free RTPrinter app from the App Store and connect your printer in it.
- Record the visit. Its receipt opens.
- Tap Print with RTPrinter.
- In the list that opens, choose RTPrinter. If you don't see it in the row of apps, scroll along the row or choose More.
- Print from RTPrinter.
The receipt goes to RTPrinter as a PDF the width of 58mm paper, laid out exactly as it looks on screen. If the Share sheet doesn't open, the PDF opens in a tab of its own instead; tap that tab's Share button and choose RTPrinter from there.
Way 2: Bluefy, in one tap
Bluefy is a free browser for iPhone that can talk to Bluetooth printers itself, so you can print without leaving the page.
- On any receipt in Safari, tap Get Bluefy to install it, then Copy this page's link.
- Open Bluefy, paste the link and sign in to Artisanly.
- On a receipt, tap Print receipt. The first time, Bluefy asks which printer to use; choose your PT-210.
- Later receipts go straight to the same printer while Bluefy stays open.
In Bluefy, Print with RTPrinter is still there as a second option.
Which to choose
RTPrinter keeps you in Safari and works with whatever RTPrinter can reach, at the cost of a couple of taps per receipt. Bluefy is quicker on a long run with many receipts, but you work in Bluefy rather than Safari for the day. Both print the same receipt.
