Importing prospects from a spreadsheet
Add many shops at once from a CSV file, chains included.
In this section: Prospects and chains4
From Prospects, Import CSV takes a spreadsheet of shops. Match its columns to the fields the app knows: each row needs a shop name and a region or town, and the branch, Google Place ID, location, note and contact are optional. A preview shows every row before anything is saved, and a row that would be refused says why.
A Chain column puts a row under its chain, matched to an existing chain whatever its case or accents, or made the first time the file names it. Mark a row Head office to make it the chain's own shop. A chain the file makes starts as a lead and a buying office; New chains are managed centrally sets that on each of them. An import never changes a chain that was already there.
Everything arrives as a lead, with the seller chosen under Assign to, or nobody. A shop already in the app, by Google Place ID or by name, branch and region, is counted as a duplicate rather than added twice. Shops with a Google Place ID get their phone number, website and type filled in from Google.
