Commission tiers that depend on who delivers
Give a Seller a better partner price on shops they restock themselves than on shops your route delivers to, with a worked example of the sums.
In this section: Sellers and commissions4
A Seller earns the difference between the shop's price and their partner price on every unit the shop is charged for. When a Seller restocks a shop themselves, the driving is theirs, so you may want their partner price there to be lower than on a shop your own route delivers to. Partner prices can be set separately for each case.
Say who delivers each shop
On the shop, choose Edit store and set Who delivers to We deliver or Seller delivers. It is a standing arrangement, not a record of who drove on a given day, and it doesn't stop anyone recording a delivery. A shop with no Seller always stays with your route.
Set the partner prices
- As an admin, go to Settings and open Partner prices.
- The All products schedule applies to everything without one of its own. Each row reads: from this many units a month (From units / month), every further unit costs this Partner price. Every schedule needs a row starting at 0.
- Under Add a schedule, choose the products (All products or one product) and the delivery: Our route delivers or Seller delivers. Choose Add schedule.
- Fill in its rows, using Add a tier for more, and choose Save prices.
The most specific schedule wins: one product delivered this way, then that product however delivered, then all products delivered this way, then the general one. New prices apply from the next delivery; nothing already earned changes. A price set in the Commission section of a shop's Settings tab still beats every schedule for that shop.
A worked example
Shops pay $35 a unit. The general schedule is $30 from 0 units. A Seller delivers schedule is $27 from 0 units and $25 from 100. Ana is the Seller of Tienda Sur, which she restocks, and Tienda Norte, which your route delivers. She has 90 units this month already.
| Visit | Units charged | Partner price | Ana earns |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tienda Sur (Seller delivers) | 10 | $27 (units 91 to 100) | 10 × $8 = $80 |
| Tienda Sur, same visit | 20 | $25 (from unit 101) | 20 × $10 = $200 |
| Tienda Norte (We deliver) | 20 | $30, general schedule | 20 × $5 = $100 |
The Tienda Sur visit crosses 100 units, so it is recorded as two lines, one at each price; tiers never re-price what was already sold. Units count across every shop Ana earns on, whoever delivers them, so the Tienda Norte units also bring her closer to the next tier.
